On Saturday I ran the second Introduction to Photography Course in London and I thought it went very well and I'm looking forward to running lots more throughout 2015.

I seem to be very lucky with the people who attend these courses, all really enthusiastic and genuinely lovely people.

The course starts in a nice little Italian coffee (and Ice Cream) shop in Borough Market. Here I give a talk about how the camera works and then how to control it to get consistent results. This talk is normally about an hour long. They do great coffee and pastries.

When we are ready we then head out on a circular photowalk of around 3 miles.

I will be on hand at all times on the walk and will be able to help you with camera settings and advice as we go.

I'll also be finding a few little excercises for you to do to help you get to grips with camera settings and in addition everyone will be given a list of themes to try and shoot along the way, just to help kick start some creativity.

The walk will circle Borough Market before heading under The Shard and towards Tower Bridge taking in some interesting sights along the way. We will actually go a little further and head through Butlers Wharf until we get to the Design Museum. From here we walk back along the river past City Hall with some great views of Tower Bridge as well as The Gherkin and Walkie Talkie buildings. We keep going until we arrive back in Borough Market.

Upon arrival at Borough Market everyone will hand their memory cards to myself and I will go and lock myself in a room (pub) and donwload all of your images to my laptop ready to do a slideshow of the images.

While I'm doing this, it's a chance for you to refuel on some of the lovely street food offered at the market. You will have approximately 45 minutes to yourself at this point before we meet at a pub to discuss the day and review everyone's images.

The day closes at around 4pm, hopefully having gained some valuable knowledge on how to control your camera and had a fun day too.

You can view all of the current available dates on my website here.
