This course aims to give you a good introduction to digital photography, helping you leave fully automatic modes behind and begin to master your camera. In addition we will also be getting creative going on a photowalk around London with hands-on tuition from myself as we go. We finish up with a de-brief in a local pub where we can download some images and do an image review.
£59 for 1 person / £99 for 2 people

The course starts at 10am with a meeting at a Gelateria 3BIS coffee shop. At this meeting I will give an introduction to the day and hand out some course notes for you to keep.
At 11.00am we will head out on a creative photowalk with tuition as we go. I will spend time with each individual and there will be lots of time to ask questions as we go.
We will arrive back at Borough Market around 2.00pm. At this point everyone will hand their memory cards to Andrew and he will begin downlaoding the photos whilst you grab a bite to eat from the many different options at the market.
Around 3pm we will re-group with a de-brief meeting at a pub, most probably The Market Porter, where we will do an image review session.
The day will finish at 4.00pm.
Objectives of the day:
The course aims to give participants a good introduction to the main features of their camera whilst keeping things as simple as possible. I don't believe in blinding people with science but I do want people to be able to take control of their camera and achieve great photographs, this will include moving away from fully automatic modes.
This course is not just technical advice though, it incorporates a creative photowalk around London actually putting the things we learn in to practice, with me on hand at all times to help you.
On the walk I will give participants creative advice, ideas of things to shoot and how to shoot them in a way to make them interesting. We'll talk about rules of composition, how to use them and how to break them!
The course doesn't finish there, we'll re-group in a pub and download 10 of your best images to a tablet or laptop and do a feedback session. We will also discuss what to do next and how to push your photography to the next level.
We will learn about...
- ISO explained
- Aperture explained
- Shutter speed explained
- Shooting modes: Programme and Aperture Priority.
- Exposure Compensation
- RAW v JPG
- Composition and how to frame your images
- Seeing differently, how to get different photos
