This course consists of one full day of photography with me on hand to give you expert tuition. This is a fun and social workshop where we will explore London whilst working on a photo project. At the end of the day we will do a slideshow of everyones photos and after the event I will create a 100 page magazine style publication with everyone's photos in.
You will also receive a Fujifilm X Level 2 Workbook with advanced technical advice on how to get the most out of your Fujifilm X camera. It will also include information about the brief and space to make notes.
This will be a pretty intense day and may require a fair amount of walking.
This workshop is aimed at those using Fujifilm X series cameras, although in practice any good CSC or SLR is suitable for this workshop.
The essence of this photography workshop is to create a body of work taken in London. This will act as a photographic guide to London. It can be a traditional or alternative guide! I will be giving you a more detailed brief for this assignment over coffee in the morning. Throughout the workshop I will be offering advice on how best to fulfil the brief.
The project will be undertaken in two parts:
For one part of the shooting assignment you will split in two small groups. You will have to discuss ideas and locations to shoot at and will then work together to create images that show your vision of London. I will be with each group for this part of the shooting assignment.
Pairs or Individuals
For the other part of the shooting assignment you will either work in pairs or own your own. This means that if there are places you want to visit that perhaps didn't work for the group session it is your chance to do that.
In total we will spend around 5 hours taking photographs and 1 hour editing and selecting our images for including in a slideshow at the end of the day.
Saturday 3rd March 2018
Coffee & Brief
We meet on the Saturday morning at a coffee shop near to London Bridge train station.
Part 1 of the day's photo assignment.
We will meet at a pre-arranged location for Lunch.
Part 2 of the day's photo assignment.
Editing and selecting images for the slideshow.
You will need a laptop or an iPad/tablet at the very least.
We will be running a slideshow of everyones chosen images at a pub venue.
You can invite friends or partners to this if you wish.
THE PHOTO MAGAZINE
This photography workshop has a slideshow exhibition at the end of the day, but your images will also be used to create a 100 page A4 magazine style publication that will include everyone's images. This document will be put together by myself and everyone will receive a copy.
During the workshop we will discuss creating this photo magazine and the importance of consistency and sequencing for maximum effect.
After the course you will have two weeks to submit up to 10 photos for inclusion in the photo magazine. These images should be in high resolution format. I will then layout and arrange for your magazine to be printed and delivered to you.
So often we just leave our photos on our computers, but there is something really special about having a look back at our photos in a beautiful photo magazine.
The cost for this is £199 per person.
Please note that the price does not include travel, accommodation, meals or refreshments.
My style of teaching is relaxed and I will not be looking over your shoulder every two minutes to make sure you're doing it right. I give you space to be creative and enjoy your photography, but should you need me then I am on hand to help you achieve the shots you want. If you don't want or need any tuition at all, then that is fine too.
