This course consists of one full day of creative photography with me on hand to give you expert tuition. This is a fun and social workshop where we will explore London whilst working on a photo project. At the end of the day we will have a debrief and a drink at a pub. After the event I will create magazine style photo book with everyone's photos.

This will be a pretty intense day and may require a fair amount of walking.

THE PROJECT:

The essence of this photography workshop is to create a body of work taken in London. This will act as a photographic guide to London. It can be a traditional or alternative guide! I will be giving you a more detailed brief for this assignment over coffee in the morning. Throughout the workshop I will be offering advice on how best to fulfil the brief.

The project will be undertaken in two parts:

Group Project
For one part of the shooting assignment you will split in two small groups. You will have to discuss ideas and locations to shoot at and will then work together to create images that show your vision of London. I will be with each group for this part of the shooting assignment.

Pairs or Individuals
For the other part of the shooting assignment you will either work in pairs or own your own. This means that if there are places you want to visit that perhaps didn't work for the group session it is your chance to do that.

In total we will spend around 5-6 hours taking photographs.

THE PHOTO MAGAZINE

Your images will also be used to create up to a 100 page A4 magazine style publication that will include everyone's images. This document will be put together by myself and everyone will receive a copy.

During the workshop we will discuss creating this photo magazine and the importance of consistency and sequencing for maximum effect.

After the course you will have two weeks to submit up to 10 photos for inclusion in the photo magazine. These images should be in high resolution format. I will then layout and arrange for your magazine to be printed and delivered to you.

So often we just leave our photos on our computers, but there is something really special about having a look back at our photos in a beautiful photo magazine.

TEACHING STYLE

My style of teaching is relaxed and I will not be looking over your shoulder every two minutes to make sure you're doing it right. If you don't want or need any tuition at all, then that is fine too.
