Photoshop Elements Tuition

Shooting in Raw format and developing your images yourself is probably the biggest change you can make to improve the quality and standard of your photographs.

I currently offer tuition in what I deem to be the most important and relevant processing platforms, Adobe Lightoom 3, Photoshop Elements 10 and Photoshop CS5.

Adobe Photoshop Elements 10

Course Description:

The Elements course provides you with a comprehensive introduction to RAW processing and the most relevant features of Elements. The course covers workflow such as importing and cataloging your images and then developing and outputting for print and web.

I now run 2 versions of this course:
INTENSIVE: 1x 4 hour session – £170
Useful for those who have good attention spans and are fairly computer literate.
2 PART COURSE: 2X 3 hour sessions – £200
Useful for those who want to take their time and be thorough. Ideally the 2 part bookings should be about 1 week apart.

It’s not possible to cover every feature of Elements but I concentrate on the following:

  • Import – Using the powerful Elements Organier mode to import and organise your photos
  • Develop – Using the Elements Edit mode to process your photos. Including:
    Exposure, white balance, local adjustments, shadow & highlights, black & white conversions, sharpening, noise reduction etc
  • Export – Saving for Print/Web/Screen

These workshops can be run either at your home or from the function room above The Old Fire Station cafe in Crowborough.

At your home:
You will need a computer loaded with Photoshop Elements 10. I will demonstrate the software with my Mac Book and you will follow along on your computer (Mac or PC).

At the Fire Station:
You will need a laptop computer loaded with Photoshop Elements 10. I will demonstrate the software with my Mac Book attached to a large LCD screen, you will follow along on your laptop (Mac or PC).
There is a £10 hire charge for using the cafe function room and we share this cost and pay on the day (£5 each).
Hot & cold drinks and food are available to purchase on the day.

Notes:
* Some travel expenses might need to be added for traveling to your home, depending on where you live. I use Apple Mac computers to deliver the training, but it doesn’t matter if you use a PC, the software is virtually identical.
The intensive course is approximately 4 hours in length, in addition we will take rest breaks. Overall the whole session should last about 5 hours maximum.
The 2 part course is 2x 3 hour sessions, this includes a 15 minute break in the middle.
