Street Portrait Workshop
I felt I need some help with portrait work and more specifically ‘street portrait’. Whilst I am in London & Andy is based in Sussex I liked the style of his work and decided to arrange a 1 day workshop with him. He kindly offered to come up to London and we spent the day out & about photographing people near the Southbank.
Andy was super friendly and helpful but more than that he was really patient . I do get a bit confused on the technical side but he he kept his explanations clear & simple . Once we left the relative safety of the café; it was time to put all the theory into practice! I was really reluctant to ask strangers if I could take their photo but with Andy there my confidence grew as the day went on. He had a lot of useful tips to share and was really clued up about where to go and how to get the best out people when you approach them.
It was all a bit nerve racking at first but it was great fun and I really learnt a lot.
I will certainly be contacting Andy again to do another workshop and wouldn’t hesitate in recommending him.

1-2-1 Bespoke Photography Workshop
I cannot recommend Andy highly enough. Having felt that I had many gaps in my photography I had been struggling to fine tune my workflow and needed informed advice on whether I needed to invest in any equipment, plus tips on lighting and some specific Photoshop editting tasks. I had found trawling through editorials and on line reviews so arduous, not to mention totally confusing. What I needed was someone to find out my problems and give me solutions; Andy did just that. Everything I learned on my 1-2-1 day was totally relevant and I now feel inspired and confident enough to push forward into the commercial sector, safe in the knowledge that I am using all the tools to offer the highest quality of service to my clients!!
In addition Andy is a great guy to spend the day with, professional, thorough and enthusiastic, I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Photoclub in the Pub – Creative Photography Course
1-2-1 Camera Workshop
Having enjoyed taking photos for many years I was looking for a way of learning more without feeling like I was back in the classroom. The monthly meetings in the pub are a great way to do just this. I began my first course using a compact camera and by the end I knew I was then brave enough to move into the world of a digital SLR.
Once I had the camera I was happy taking photos on ‘Auto’ mode but with Andy’s 1-2-1 tution I left with a much better idea of how to use the camera and all it’s dials. Throughout the Photo club course he has continued to help me think about the technical aspects of the photos as well as their composition.
Seeing my photos in an exhibition at the end was great. Although thinking about framing and the order of the photos was something I hadn’t considered to be so challenging – but worthwhile!
Being able to also look at photos taken by others on the course was also very interesting and useful. It was always interesting to see how others had gone about taking photos with the ‘theme’ as our focus. It has given me something other than work to think about as I drive there and back each day along with any other journey – my camera is now always with me.
I’m looking forward to a year’s worth of Photo club starting next week. I just wonder what the first theme will be?!

Photoclub in the Pub – Creative Photography Course
Being a keen but inexperienced point and clicker I’d wanted to do a photography course for a while but had been consistently put off by the thought of sitting in a classroom at the end of a hard day in the office. The Club in the Pub course was bought for me as a present, but it was everything I’d been looking for.
Despite concentrating on exploring your creative side the course gave me plenty of opportunity to learn more technical aspects of photography. With a month for each assignment, there was plenty of time to practice and experiment; I learned more and more each time I picked up my camera and the quality of my shots improved with each assignment. I was never alone either, as Andy was always available to provide support and guidance through emails or texts, and the feedback at the next meeting was always invaluable to take into the next project.
With a different assignment each month the course also gave plenty of scope for delving into subject matters you might not normally photograph. I found myself really getting into things I’d never previously thought about photographing.
This course has inspired me to undertake a number of other projects already, 5 stars just doesn’t do it justice!

Photoclub in the Pub – Creative Photography Course
If you are looking for something other than the class room style photography course, this is for you.
Whether you are a total novice or an experience snapper who’s run out of ideas, the Photo Club in the Pub courses are informative and inspiring and will lead you to think more about you photography and improve your skills.
Andy’s enthusiastic approach to photography tuition and the relaxed atmosphere of a pub make an excellent change to the usual adult education classroom blackboard led lectures.
The course is set up as monthly assignments which are designed to make you think about your own photography, develop your technical skills and improve your eye for the creative shot. You’ll have the month to take your pictures and then submit your images to Andy who print them, ready for review at the following months meeting.
Andy’s advice and guidance during the meeting s and phone, text and email support during the assignments is invaluable, even if you are an experienced photographer.
This course is more than showing you how to use your camera to take a good photo. Its ultimate goal is for you to use your own creativity, to produce your own images, to be reproduced how you’d like them and to be exhibited at the end of the course in a gallery.
If you are looking for a casual and relax but informative and inspiring photography course this is for you.
